Pricing information and an explanation of the various kind of inspection services available. Please treat the prices below as a guideline and contact us for a free and no obligation personalised quote.

"How much do you charge?" is usually the first question that we're asked but it's actually the last question that prospective customers should be asking. As with everything else in the world, price is not the only criteria. The scope and quality of building inspection services varies wildly so the first questions should be about the scope of the inspection and the quality of the report.

Questions you should be asking before the price include:

• How long have you been carrying out building inspections
• Are you a member of any professional organizations?
• Do you have recognized accreditation?
• How much time do you spend actually inspecting the property?
• Do you carry professional indemnity insurance?

We don't aim to be the cheapest (or the most expensive) but rather to provide the best possible combination of value and service. Price quotes are available on application depending on the nature of the required inspection. Usually we can offer a fixed rate but hourly rates may be applicable depending on the situation.

pre-purchase inspections

As a rule of thumb the price of a pre purchase home inspection and written report starts at $325 for a small unit to $600 for a very large house.

staged inspections

A series of four staged inspections, generally coinciding with progress payments to the builder ranges between $1,300 and $2,100 depending on the size of the building and other factors.

It is possible to have only one or more stages inspected, we can offer a fixed price quote for a single stage inspection on request.

construction disputes, mediation, expert witness & insurance claims

Where ever possible we prefer to give a fixed quote but if the scope of work is in doubt we generally charge at an hourly rate, please contact us to discuss your particular situation.

travel expenses

Travel expenses are not charged for properties within 20km of our office which covers most of the Adelaide Metropolitan area. We can travel anywhere in South Australia at a rate of 50 cents per kilometre and $50 per hour.
