Besides the usual home and building inspections we offer expert assessments of complaints by clients unhappy with the quality of workmanship performed by building contractors, mediation & conciliation, expert witness services, independent insurance assessments and dilapidation reports for buildings located near a planned major construction project.

Construction Disputes

In case of doubt or if you are having a dispute with your construction contractor we offer an independent professional opinion and written report. There are two options, a simple inspection and report for your information or a very detailed and elaborate document if you’re considering legal action.

These reports apply to the assessment of new work by building contractors, or those purporting to be such. The scope is somewhat broader in that it also covers work that would not be classed as building work under the Development Act 1993.

Mediation & Conciliation

In case of a dispute between a house owner and a contractor we can come and investigate the situation the try to find common ground between the parties in order to solve the problem amicably. This only works if both parties agree to the mediation process and are willing to commit to agreements reached during the process.

Expert Witness

In case you need to take court action we are qualified to act as expert witnesses with respect to domestic construction issues. Please note that we will have to inspect the property and write a specially geared report referring to specific standards and codes before the court appearance.

Insurance Assessments

We also offer assessments of insurance claims, mainly at the instigation of insurance companies and assessors but we can offer an independent assessment as a second opinion in case you disagree with an existing report.

Dilapidation Reports

A detailed and itemised description of existing problems with a building or buildings located near a planned major construction project. This report establishes the condition of a building prior to major works in case of future claims against the project managers.
